- EX-GOVERNOR GETS FOUR-YEAR JAIL TERM

The Indonesian Corruption Court sentenced a former Riau governor and parliament member to four years in prison in connection with the misappropriation of 4.7 billion rupiah ($514,200) local government fund in 2003.

- INDOSAT REVISES UP INVESTMENT BY 16 PCT

Indonesia's second largest listed telecommunications company, PT Indosat (ISAT.JK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), will spend $1.4 billion this year, up 16 percent from its initial target of $1.2 billion. The funds will be used to increase its network coverage.

- SUBSIDISED FUEL CONSUMPTION TO EXCEED TARGET

Consumption of subsidised fuel may reach nearly 40 million kiloliters this year, exceeding the government's target of 35.5 million kiloliters, on rising demand fuelled by motorcycle and cars sales despite a fuel price hike in May.

- ASIAN AGRI TO PRODUCE 12 MILLION PALM OIL SEEDS

Indonesian plantation firm Asian Agri, a unit of the Raja Garuda Mas International (RGM) group, plans to produce 12 million palm oil seeds to meet rising demand from local farmers and plantations firms, the company's spokesperson, Fiona Mambu, said.
