May 12 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2100 GMT on Monday.

** Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) is close to a deal to buy Electronic Data Systems Corp (EDS.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) for $12 billion to $13 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site on Monday. [nN12305396]
** The banks and buyers in the Clear Channel Communications Inc (CCU.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) case are in settlement talks, two sources familiar with the situation said, as the scheduled start of a New York trial over financing the $20 billion buyout was delayed. [nN12285184]
** GSC Acquisition Co (GGA.A: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), a special purpose acquisition company, said it would acquire privately held power producer Complete Energy Holdings in a $1.3 billion deal. [nN12215786]
