QUITO, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Ecuadorean Oil Minister Galo Chiriboga said on Friday OPEC expects world crude prices to stay above $110 per barrel in 2009.

"The studies we carried out at the last OPEC meeting say prices will stay above $110 in 2009," Chiriboga said in a television interview.

Ecuador, the cartel's smallest member, is concerned about the recent volatility of crude prices due to fears of lower demand in the United States stoked by a fierce financial crisis. (Reporting by Alonso Soto; Editing by John Picinich)
