Overstock files for $500 mln debt, stock offering
WASHINGTON, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Overstock.com Inc (OSTK.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on Tuesday filed to periodically sell up to $500 million in debt securities, common and preferred stock, and other securities.
The company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will use the proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes and working capital, including sales and marketing activities and inventory purchases.
Under a shelf registration, a company may sell securities in one or more separate offerings with the size, price and terms to be determined at the time of sale. (Reporting by Karey Wutkowski)
