Mexico's America Movil buys Nicaragua telecom
MEXICO CITY, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Mexico's America Movil, the largest cell phone operator in Latin America, said on Thursday it bought Nicaraguan telecommunications firm Estesa Holding Corp.
In a statement filed with the Mexican stock exchange, America Movil said it had acquired 100 percent of the company, which provides cable television and Internet service.
America Movil (AMXL.MX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) (AMX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) did not say how much it paid for the company. (Reporting by Jason Lange; editing by Carol Bishopric)
