BRASILIA, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Brazil's auto sales dove in November compared with the month and year earlier periods, showing the impact of the international financial crisis, the auto distributors federation Fenabrave said on Monday.

Auto sales fell to 177,906 units in the month, down 25 percent from a year ago and down 25.7 percent from October sales, Fenabrave said.

The figures are based on new car license registrations.

For the year through November sales are still up 18 percent with nearly 2.63 million units. Fenabrave still expects to end the year with record sales of 2.87 million vehicles.

Official figures for November from the auto manufacturers association Anfavea are expected in the coming days. (Reporting by Vanessa Stelzer; Translating by Reese Ewing)

The SEC needs to adopt a “where there is smoke there is fire” approach. It must become risk focused in the scope and frequency of its monitoring and surveillance operations.   Commentary
