Shell sees all U.S. Gulf output shut by Saturday
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil major Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSa.L), the largest U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil and gas producer, expects all of its production to be shut down by Saturday as Tropical Storm Gustav heads for the Gulf, according to a notice posted on its website.
"(We) expect to continue the orderly shut-in of all Shell operated Gulf production by Saturday, consistent with our personnel evacuation plan," Shell said.
The major has also started up its emergency operations center at its Norco, Louisiana, refinery, which is owned by the Motiva joint venture between Shell and Saudi Aramco.
