HONG KONG, July 3 (Reuters) - Hong Kong shares closed 2.3 percent lower Thursday, losing close to 900 points in two consecutive sessions as Chinese banks and insurers plunged on fears of further credit tightening in China. The Hang Seng Index .HSI unofficially closed down 500.23 points at 21,204.22, a new 15-week low.
