US FDA: Bayer to remove rest of Trasylol supplies
WASHINGTON, May 14 (Reuters) - Bayer AG (BAYG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) will start removing the remaining supplies of its heart-surgery drug Trasylol from the U.S. market, the Food and Drug Administration said on Wednesday.
Access to the drug will be limited to investigational use, the FDA said in a statement. Bayer suspended sales of the medicine in November after research suggested an increased risk of death compared to other drugs used to control bleeding. (Reporting by Lisa Richwine; editing by Tim Dobbyn)
