LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Lionsgate has picked up the rights to the comic book "Deal With the Devil" and has hired writer Kyle Ward to adapt it for the big screen.

Published by Alias, the story centers on a Chicago detective who, in order to hunt down a copycat killer, is forced to take on an unlikely new partner: the original serial killer.

Ward wrote the thriller "Fiasco Heights," which is set up at Universal, and is writing the video-game adaptation "Kane & Lynch" for Lionsgate.
