Oct 11 (Reuters) - General Motors (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) has had talks with Chrysler LLC about a merger that would combine the No. 1 and No. 3 American automakers, a source briefed on the matter has said. The talks come against the backdrop of a global financial crisis that has left governments scrambling to stem panic in financial markets and get credit flowing more freely.
