NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Internet unit of News Corp (NWSa.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) is in talks with all the U.S. wireless operators about featuring the mobile version of MySpace on their main data service menus or mobile phone decks, a senior executive said on Monday.
Fox Interactive Media has launched a mobile version of MySpace.com, the most popular online teen hangout, and has an agreement to offer the service to customers of AT&T Inc (T.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), the biggest U.S. mobile service.
The company is looking for other carriers to encourage their customers to use MySpace on their cell phones.
"We're having conversations with every carrier now about deck placement," Peter Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media, told the Reuters Media Summit in New York.
"We think the mobile opportunity is significant," he said. "We know for sure there's a real strong demand for MySpace."
