NEW YORK (Reuters) - The price of gold could pass $800 an ounce and in any event is unlikely to drop below $500 an ounce for a "long, long time," Goldcorp (G.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) Chief Executive Ian Telfer said on Tuesday.
Telfer, speaking at the Reuters Global Mining and Steel Summit in New York, also said he was "very bullish" about the price of silver and saw room for that metal to triple.
"I'm very bullish on the price of silver as well; it could be more volatile than gold," he said.
