FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German chemicals group BASF (BASF.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) has no plans to sell its struggling fine chemicals unit, Chief Financial Officer Kurt Bock told the Reuters Chemicals Summit in Frankfurt.
"We will keep fine chemicals," Bock said. "The restructuring is underway. It is a good business, it has some issues, but we will not throw in the towel."
He said the company was hopeful for the current year. "We're kind of optimistic," he said.
